HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES
#7 Massachusetts and UConn kicked off the 2020-21 season with a home-and-home series over the weekend. UMass senior Oliver Chau (Oakville, Ont.) had a three-point weekend with a goal and two assists to help the Minutemen go 1-0-1 over the Huskies, as he registered a goal and an assist in Friday’s 5-1 win before picking up another helper in Saturday’s 2-2 tie.
UConn’s Cassidy Bowes (Sturgeon County, Alta.) earned the first
two points of his NCAA career this weekend with a pair of assists
in each game for the Huskies. Kale Howarth (Red Deer, Alta.)
scored the lone goal in a 5-1 setback on Friday before netting the
shootout-winning goal following an official 2-2 tie on Saturday.
