HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES
Vermont earned its first victory under head coach Todd Woodcroft, 5-4, on Friday as the Catamounts split a weekend series with Maine. Senior defenseman Christian Evers (Waukee, Iowa) led the league with four goals and five points on the weekend. Friday afternoon he had two goals and one assist for his first career three-point game leading UVM to its first win of the season. On Saturday he scored twice again and led the Catamounts with four blocked shots.
New Hampshire split a home-and-home set with No. 2/2 Boston College, led by sophomore defenseman Kalle Eriksson (Leksand, Sweden), who scored the overtime game-winner at No. 2/2 Boston College on Friday, then assisted on both UNH goals at the Whittemore Center in a 3-2 overtime loss.
Spencer Knight (Darien, Conn.) improved to 5-0-0 on the year with Sunday’s road win at New Hampshire, kicking out his 1,000th career save in the process. He pushed his personal unbeaten streak to 14 games (13-0-1) dating back to last season in his first action in a BC sweater since backboning Team USA to a World Championship gold medal.
Boston University began play in the 2020-21 season, splitting a weekend series with No. 16 Providence. Senior defenseman David Farrance (Victor, N.Y.) racked up five points (1g, 4a) and recorded a goal and two assists in the first seven minutes of Saturday’s 6-4 road win.
Northeastern swept Merrimack for the second time this season, led by a pair of game-winning goals from rookie forward Dylan Jackson (Oakville, Ont.) Jackson is currently riding a three-game goal streak and four-game point streak (3g, 3a) and is tied for first on the Huskies with nine points in 10 games (3g, 6a).

against No. 14 Northeastern, lighting the lamp and dishing out a helper in Saturday’s
road game and added a primary assist on the Warriors’ lone goal on Sunday
afternoon.

Marc McLaughlin, BC (Jr., F; Billerica, Mass.) Won Sunday’s overtime contest for the Eagles with a shorthanded tally just 25 seconds into the extra frame at New Hampshire. The BC captain added an assist earlier in the game for a twopoint performance. During a two-game set with the Wildcats, McLaughlin won 27 of 40 faceoffs (67.5%)

Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup, ME (Jr., F; Charlottenlund, Denmark) Potted a goal and assisted on two others for a total of three points in a series split at Vermont this weekend. The forward’s goal was crucial to the Black Bears Sunday victory, giving Maine an early 2-0 lead. He paces the Black Bears offense with eight points on two goals and six helpers.
Jakub Sirota, ME (Jr., D; Kromeriz, Czech Republic) Tallied two points with a goal and an assist in a weekend spit at Vermont. The junior blueliner now has six points (1g, 5a) on the season, which is second among all skaters on the Black Bears.

Filip Forsmark, MC (So., F; Skovde, Sweden) After he had not played in a competitive game for 20 months, Forsmark scored his first collegiate goal and added two assists over the weekend against Northeastern to bring his season total to five points. He is tied for the lead in scoring on the team, along with assists with four.
Connor Murphy, NU (So., G; Hudson Falls, N.Y. ) Stopped 63 shots across two games last weekend, backboning Northeastern to a sweep of Merrimack. The sophomore netminder earned his fifth win for Northeastern this season in the process.
