Providence College men's hockey senior Kyle Murphy (Fairhaven, N.J.) was named the 2013 Derek Hines Unsung Hero Award Winner, as announced by the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Providence College men's hockey freshman goaltender Jon Gillies (South Portland, Maine) was named the Hockey Commissioners' Association (HCA) Division I National Rookie of the Year on Friday.
Sophomore forward Scott Wilson scored with 7:30 remaining in the third period to send UMass Lowell into the 2013 Hockey East Championship game with a 2-1 win against Providence College on Friday at TD Garden.
