BC's Parker Milner has been named National Player of the Month for March/April |
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Boston College junior goaltender Parker Milner (Pittsburgh, Pa.) is the
Hockey Commissioners' Association National Division I Player of the Month for March/April.
Milner won all 10 games in the month for the Eagles, leading the team to the NCAA Championship,
as well as being named Most Outstanding Player at the Frozen Four. Milner finished the
March/April with a 0.90 GAA and a .970 save percentage, to go along with two shutouts.
He finished the NCAA Tournament with a 0.50 GAA and .982 save percentage and in the Hockey
East tournament he posted a 1.50 GAA and a .955 save percentage. Milner was named to the
Hockey East All-Tournament Team for his efforts, notching 126 saves on 132 shots in four victories
for the Eagles.
Milner stopped 291 of 300 shots in the two months. He allowed one goal or less in eight of the
10 games. He posted 30+ saves on four occasions in the 10 game stretch.
He finished the season winning 19 straight games for Boston College. Milner ended the season
with a 29-5-0 record to go along with a 1.66 GAA and a .937 save percentage. His 85% winning
percentage rank first among Division I goaltenders, while his save percentage and GAA ranked
second and third, respectively among netminders nationally.
Johnny Gaudreau (Carneys Point, N.J.), a freshman forward at Boston College, has been selected
as the HCA National Rookie of the Month
for March/April.
Gaudreau notched 13 points in 10 games
in March/April for the Eagles, including
being named Hockey East Tournament
MVP, leading BC to their third straight
league tournament championship.
He notched a point in eight of 10 games
in the month with four multi-point efforts.
He registered five points (2g,3a)
in four NCAA Tournament games, helping
the Eagles to their fifth NCAA title in
school history.
Gaudreau notched 44 points and 21
goals in 44 games for the Eagles, which
ranked first among NCAA rookies in his
freshman season at the Heights. His 1.00
points per game was also tied for third
nationally among first-year players.
