The Road to the TD Garden tour begins this weekend

Wakefield, Mass. - Hockey East Commissioner Joe Bertagna announced on Thursday that the league will kickoff its fifth annual "The Road to the TD Garden" tour this weekend. The promotion will tour the Lamoriello Trophy, awarded annually to the league's tournament champion, around to each of the 11 men's campuses in the weeks leading up to the tournament at the TD Garden in Boston on March 21-22, 2014.

At the designated "Road to the TD Garden" event on each campus, fans will have a chance to win a pair of tickets (winners choice) to either the semifinals (2 games) or championship game. All contestants from each of the eleven on-campus events will also be automatically entered into Grand Prize Drawing for a "Weekend in Boston", which includes a pair of tickets to both days of the 30th Annual Hockey East Championship along with a pair of tickets to Annual Awards Banquet plus two nights hotel accomodation. The Grand Prize Drawing will take place on/around Wednesday, March 5, 2014.

"These events will be a great way to showcase our tournament around New England and 'The Road to the TD Garden' goes through each of our 11 campuses in the next eight weeks," said Bertagna.

Fans can enter the raffle to win the VIP package in one of two ways. Fans can sign an entry slip at each Road to the TD Garden game at the trophy table, or you can take a photo with the trophy and post to either Twitter or Facebook using the hashtag #RoadToTDGarden. You must like Hockey East on Facebook or follow the league on Twitter and tweet @hockey_east to be eligible for the prize.

The "Road to the TD Garden" will begin this Friday as Northeastern hosts Vermont at Matthews Arena, and the tour will come to an end on Saturday, March 1, when Vermont hosts UMass Lowell at Gutterson Field House.
