HOCKEY EAST WEEKLY TOP PERFORMERS
Kevin Hayes, BC (Sr., F, Dorchester, Mass.) – Had three goals in two games last week, including a pair at Penn State.
Danny O'Regan, BU (So., F, Needham, Mass.) – Scored BU's first goal in both games of last weekend's split with Vermont.
Ryan Lomberg, Maine (So., F, Richmond Hill, Ont.) – Had a goal and two assists in Maine's win over UNH on Saturday, and his goal midway through the third period turned out to be the game-winner.
Michael Pereira, UMass (Sr., F, West Haven, Conn.) – Had four points over two games with three goals and one assist in a split with Merrimack, including two multi-point efforts. He scored twice on the power play in Saturday's contest to record his 50th career goal and 100th career point, becoming just the fifth player in UMass history to reach both the 50-goal and 100-point benchmarks.
Joseph Pendenza, UML (Sr., F, Wilmington, Mass.) – Notched four points (3g,1a) in the split with PC. Finished the weekend with six shots on goal and a +4 rating. Recorded three points (2g,1a) Saturday in the 6-1 win, which included his 100th career point.
Nick Sorkin, UNH (Sr., F, Rockville, Md.) – Recorded a pair of points on the weekend as he scored in each game against the University of Maine. In Friday's game, he got UNH on the board with a goal just 47 seconds into the game. His goal on Saturday was his 15th of the season.
Adam Reid, NU (Jr., F, Chino Hills, Calif.) – Had a career-high three points, including his first career two-goal game, at No. 15 ND on Friday.
Peter Schneider, ND (Jr., F, Vienna, Austria) – Schneider had a short-handed goal and an assist for two points in the 3-0 shutout of NU on Jan. 25.
Ross Mauermann, PC (Jr., F, Janesville, Wis.) – Led the Friars to a weekend split with No. 8 UMass Lowell. Mauermann scored the game-winning goal in Providence's 5-4 comeback win on Friday night and notched his third power-play goal of the season on Saturday night.
Chris McCarthy, UVM (Sr., F, Collegeville, Pa.) – Scored a pair of goals in Saturday's 6-2 win at Boston University for his 98th and 99th career points. McCarthy netted his second SHG of the season for the eventual game-winner, and has three multi-goal games in his last seven contests.
