30th Annual Hockey East Tournament: Opening Round Standouts

Mark Anthoine, Maine (Sr., F, Lewiston, Maine) Scored 2:01 into the first period of Maine's first round win over Merrimack, which ended up being the game-winning goal in a 2-0 triumph for the Black Bears.

Rasmus Tirronen, MC (Jr., G, Espoo, Finland) Stopped 33-of-34 shots in Merrimack's season-ending playoff loss at Maine on Saturday.

Peter Schneider, ND (Jr., F, Vienna, Austria) His third period goal proved to be the game-winner as Notre Dame recorded their first-ever Hockey East playoff victory.

T.J. Tynan, ND (Sr., F, Orland Park, Ill.) Posted two assists in Notre Dame's 3-2 first round win over BU on Saturday.

Brody Hoffman, UVM (So., G, Wilkie, Sask.) Turned aside 18-of-19 UMass shots in a 2-1 first round win on Friday night.

Michael Paliotta, UVM (Jr., D, Westport, Conn.) With the V-Cats trailing 1-0 late in the second against UMass on Friday, he scored to bring the game even with 2:42 to go in the second.
