Hockey East commissioner Joe Bertagna has suspended Northeastern University men's head coach Jim Madigan for one game as a result of public criticism of game officials following the Sunday, March 16 quarterfinal game at the University of New Hampshire. The suspension will take effect for the first NCAA game on Northeastern University's 2014-2015 schedule.
"Using the media to criticize an official's decision is contrary to league policy and is inherently unfair to the officials who work hard for college hockey each and every night," said Bertagna. "Hockey East and Northeastern University expect better from our head coaches and Jim has acknowledged his error in this situation."
