No. 9 Providence College at No. 6 Boston University*

- Providence and Boston University split their season series last year, but in their most recent meeting (Nov. 2, 2013), Providence came away with a 3-1 win at Schneider Arena.

- Reigning Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week netminder Matt O'Connor and the Terriers look to start their season 4-0-0 for the first time in 13 years.

No. 8 UMass Lowell vs. New Hampshire*

- UMass Lowell split last weekend with a loss to Michigan Friday before a 2-1 win over Michigan State Saturday. Defenseman Michael Kapla scored the game winner shorthanded for the River Hawks just 57 seconds into the third period.

- New Hampshire won its sole game last weekend against Colorado College, 6-2, and is one of only two teams left in the nation who are perfect on the penalty kill (16-for-16). Vermont is also an unblemished 14-for-14 on the kill.

Massachusetts at Maine*

- Freshman goaltender and Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week Henry Dill stood tall between the pipes last weekend for UMass, as the Minutemen picked up their first Hockey East win of the year at Northeastern Friday, 3-2.

- Maine is coming off of a 1-0-1 weekend against previously unbeaten Alaska Anchorage, and will look to continue their history of success against UMass. The two teams have met 74 times, with Maine holding a 46-19-9 lead all-time after a 2-1-1 record in last year's season series.

No. 5 Boston College at No. 11 Denver

UConn vs. Merrimack; vs. Yale/Princeton

- UConn closes out a seven-game road trip to begin its inaugural Hockey East season by taking part in the Liberty Invitational in Newark this weekend. The Huskies will look to avenge an overtime loss two weeks ago to league rival Merrimack in a non-conference match-up Friday afternoon.

- Merrimack holds a 24-3-0 edge in the all-time series against UConn, and since the Huskies became a Division I program in 1998-99, sport an 9-2-0 mark.

- UConn will look to get its very first win against either Yale or Princeton, as they are 0-3-0 all-time vs. Princeton, and 0-10-0 all-time vs. the Bulldogs.
