No. 4/3 Boston College at No. 17 UMass Lowell

- Defending two-time Hockey East Champion No. 17 UMass Lowell opens the 2014-15 Hockey East season against an Eagle offense that had no problem putting up six goals in a winning effort in exhibition play against New Brunswick.

- Senior River Hawk defenseman Zack Kamrass posted a goal and two assists in a 7-3 exhibition win over St. Thomas, and earned Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors for his three-point night.

No. 20/15 Boston University at UMass

- Performances last weekend from Terrier forwards Ahti Oksanen (4G) and Jack Eichel (5A) in a 12-1 exhibition win against St. Thomas (NB) earned them Warrior Hockey Player of the Week and Pro Ambition Rookie of the Week Honors respectively.

Vermont at No. 16/20 Northeastern

- Vermont downed Royal Military College, 8-0, last weekend in exhibition play thanks to a wellbalanced offensive attack, with eight different players contributing goals in the winning effort.

- Northeastern fell to the Acadia Axemen last weekend 3-2 in exhibition play, despite being a perfect 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.

Merrimack vs. Holy Cross

- Two goals by Vinny Scotti and Marc Biega less than a minute apart late in the 3rd period helped Merrimack come back and tie St. Francis Xavier, 2-2, in last week's exhibition.

No. 3/4 Providence College at Ohio State

- Hockey East preseason favorite No. 3/4 Providence College was off from exhibition play last week. The Friars welcome back junior goaltender Jon Gilles and senior forward Ross Mauermann.

UConn at Penn State

No. 12/13 Notre Dame vs. RPI; No. 1 Minnesota/Minnesota-Duluth

- A three-point game from Vince Hinostroza was not enough to push Notre Dame past Waterloo in a 5-4 exhibition loss last weekend. The Fighting Irish's regular season will begin in the Ice Breaker Tournament against RPI, and then either No. 1 Minnesota or Minnesota-Duluth.

Maine vs. Alaska; Alaska Anchorage

- The Black Bears opened with an 8-3 exhibition win over New Brunswick last weekend with five different players contributing a goal and an assist each.

- Maine travels north as they look to earn victories in the Kendall Hockey Classic against Alaska Anchorage and Alaska.

No. 19 New Hampshire at No. 5/7 Union

- Coming off a 2-0 exhibition loss to St. Francis Xavier, the Wildcats open the 2014-15 campaign against the defending NCAA Champions, Union.
