Pecararo notched his first collegiate points with a goal and two assists in Maine's weekend sweep of UMass. He had a pair of assists in Maine's overtime win on Friday and followed up by scoring a goal in the third period Saturday night to tie the game at 2-2. Providence College went 1-1-0 in its weekend series against sixth-ranked Boston University, thanks in part to Gillies' back-to-back 37 save performances. On Saturday night, the junior netminder stood tall especially in the third period, where he made 17 of his 37 saves to help the Friars down the Terriers in their first loss of the season. HOCKEY EAST WEEKLY TOP PERFORMERS

Thatcher Demko, BC (So., G; San Diego, California) Made 58 saves on 61 shots as the Eagles went 1-0-1 at Denver.

Evan Rodrigues, BU (Jr., F; Etobicoke, Ontario) Tallied three points (1G, 2A) in a 4-1 win over Providence Friday.

Matt O'Connor, BU (Jr., G; Toronto, Ontario) Kicked out 48 of 51 shots over weekend split with Providence.

Brian Morgan, Maine (So., G; Windham, New Hampshire) Notched a goal and two assists in sweep of UMass, including the game-winning goal in overtime Saturday.

Kevin Boyle, UML (Jr., G; Manalapan, New Jersey) Stopped 33 shots to earn his second career shutout in 2-0 win over UNH Friday.

Brian Christie, MC (Jr, F; West Chester, Pennsylvania) Chipped in four assists in two games at the Liberty Invitational to help his team to a 1-0-1 weekend.

Kevin Roy, NU (Jr., F; Lac-Beauport, Quebec) Registered four points (1G, 3A) in two games at Quinnipiac, collecting his 24th career multipoint game.

Thomas DiPauli, ND (Jr., F; Caldaro, Italy) Scored twice, including the game winner, in a 3-2 victory over UVM Friday, finishing with a plus-two rating.

Cal Petersen, ND (Fr., G; Waterloo, Iowa) Denied 76 of 80 shots to go 1-0-1 on the weekend, including a career-high 42 saves Saturday to preserve a 2-2 tie.

Shane Luke, PC (Sr., F; Dauphin, Manitoba) Collected the game-winning goal and an assist to help lead the Friars past previously unbeaten No. 6 BU Saturday.

Colin Markison, UVM (Sr., F; Princeton, New Jersey) Recorded a goal and an assist in a 2-2 tie at Notre Dame Saturday. His marker knotted the game withh 40 seconds remaining in regulation.

JERRY YORK: With a 2-1 win at Denver Friday, Jerry York collected his 500th victory behind the bench of Boston College. It took just 811 games for the all-time winningest coach in college hockey history to collect 500 wins with BC.

FIRSTS/MILESTONES: UConn's Kasperi Ojantakanen and Corey Ronan scored their first goals for the Huskies at the Liberty Invitational ... Mathieu Tibbet notched his first career goal at the Liberty Invite for Merrimack ... Liam Pecararo picked up his first three points on a goal and two assists against UMass while Sean Romeo backstopped the Black Bears with 30 saves to pick up his first win Saturday ... Northeastern defenseman Garret Cockerill netted his first collegiate goal Sunday and is riding a three-game point streak while batterymate Zach Aston-Reese also has a three-game scoring streak on three assists.

IRISH STREAKS: Notre Dame freshman goaltender Cal Petersen had a 1:32.21 shutout streak snapped in the 3-2 victory over UVM while junior winger Mario Lucia has eight goals in his first eight games of 2014-15.

FAST START: Boston University has taken four of its first five games in 2014-15, including going 4-0-0 for the first time since 2001-02.

SUCCESS ON COMM AVE: Providence claimed its first victory at Agganis Arena since 2008-09 with a 2-1 victory over BU Saturday
