Warrior Hockey Player of the Week Dan Correale of New Hampshire

AROUND HOCKEY EAST: Hockey East teams wrapped 2015 and began 2016 in non-league play on the road and at holiday tournaments ... Providence has killed off 20 consecutive penalties dating back to Nov. 28 … Erik Foley (Mansfield, Mass.) recorded his first career multi-point effort against Brown while Brandon Tanev (Toronto, Ont.) has recorded nine points (4-5-9) in his last nine games ... Vermont freshman netminder Packy Munson (Hugo, Minn.) went a perfect 3-0-0 last week, picking up Catamount Cup MVP honors as he backstopped his squad to the tournament title. He stopped 60 shots and recorded his second career home shutout Dec. 29 against Lake Superior State ... New Hampshire was led to a 1-1-1 record by Dan Correale (Prince George, B.C.), who picked up three power-play goals and an assist to help the Wildcats go 2-1-0 on the week, including two neutral site wins over Maine ... Notre Dame sophomore goaltender Cal Petersen (Waterloo, Iowa) stopped 92 shots in a pair of road draws at Denver. The Irish netminder collected an impressive .968 save percentage to go along with a 1.40 goals against average.

DAN CORREALE - NEW HAMPSHIRE

Dan Correale (Prince George, B.C.) racked up four points, including three power-play goals, a game-winning goal and one assist to help New Hampshire to a 2-1-0 week. Correale scored the game-winner Dec. 29 against Maine and set up the overtime-forcing tally Jan. 2 at Vermont.

PACKY MUNSON - VERMONT

Packy Munson (Hugo, Minn.) picked up the second shutout of his career en route to helping the Cats to a 3-0-0 record and the Catamount Cup title. The rookie netminder stopped 60 shots in three appearances last week, winning each decision to claim his second Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week honor.

CAL PETERSEN - NOTRE DAME

Cal Petersen (Waterloo, Iowa) stopped 92 shots in two road stalemates with Denver, collecting a .968 save percentage. In Friday night's outing, he stopped 49 shots, including a 23- save second period in a 1-1 tie. In Saturday's 2-2 draw, he make 43 saves.

HOCKEY EAST WEEKLY TOP PERFORMERS

Steven Iacobellis, UMass (Jr., F; Port Coquitlam, B.C.) Chipped in on each goal in UMass's 2-1 overtime win at Army West Point, setting up the game-tying goal before netting an overtime tally 22 seconds into the extra frame. He is now riding a three-game point streak.

Joe Gambardella, UML (Jr., F; Staten Island, N.Y.) Registered three points (2g, 1a) and finished plus-three at the Three Rivers Classic.

Michael Kapla, UML (Jr., D; Eau Claire, Wis.) Dished out three assists in two games at the Three Rivers Classic, helping the River Hawks to a second-place finish and earning a spot on the Three Rivers Classic All-Tournament Team.

Ara Nazarian, UNH (Fr., F; Boxford, Mass.) Picked up three points in three tilts on two goals and one helper. He scored the game-winning goal in a 7-0 win over Maine Dec. 30.

Mike McMurty, NU (Sr., F; Greely, Ont.) Recorded two power-play assists in a 3-3 tie with No. 3/2 Quinnipiac on Saturday night.

Adam Gaudette, NU (Fr., F; Braintree, Mass.) Found the back of the net in a 3-3 draw with No. 3/2 Quinnipiac at Matthews Arena.

Brandon Tanev, PC (Sr., F; Toronto, Ont.) Scored two goals this week for the Friars, including a game-winning strike against BC Tuesday at the Florida College Classic.

Jarrid Privitera, UVM (So., F: Old Tappan, N.J.) Netted the game-winner en route to recording the second multi-goal game of his season in Saturday's overtime win against New Hampshire and assisted on the deciding goal in Wednesday's win over Colgate.

Yvan Pattyn, UVM (Sr., D; Ste. Anna, Man.) Racked up five assists and finishing plus-five as Vermont had a perfect 3-0-0 record last week.
