Boston University Enters Beanpot Final With Nation's Longest Win Streak

AROUND HOCKEY EAST: Road teams rolled across Hockey East last weekend, with the visiting squads picking up a 6-1-2 record in league play ... Boston University picked up a 6-3 victory at Massachusetts on Friday night, pushing the nation's current longest-win streak to five games entering the Beanpot final against No. 4 Boston College. Rookie forward Jordan Greenway (Canton, N.Y.) picked up two goals in the win over the Minutemen and finished plus-three in two outings ... Boston College claimed victory over Harvard in the Beanpot semifinals, 3-2, and then downed league rival New Hampshire Friday night, 4-3. The Eagles meet the Terriers in the Beanpot championship for the 22nd time in the 64-year history of the tournament Feb. 8 at TD Garden ... Notre Dame launched itself into first place in the Hockey East standings with a pair of road victories at Vermont. Cal Petersen (Waterloo, Iowa) stopped 61 shots to pick up two wins on the road and posted a 1.00 goals against average and .968 save percentage while Jordan Gross (Maple Grove, Minn.) registered four points (1g, 3a) ... Northeastern fell to Boston University, 3-1, in the opening round of the Beanpot, but rebounded to tie No. 8 UMass Lowell, 2-2, Friday night to take a point in league play. The Huskies have now taken points in their last five league tilts and are 7-1-2 in their last 10 overall ... Nick Ellis (Millersville, Md.) collected two victories at Maine for Providence, posting a .980 save percentage and earning his third shutout of the year in a 1-0 overtime win Friday night. In that same outing, Maine goaltender Matt Morris (Ridgewood, N.J.) made 50 saves, surpassing his previous career high by 10 stops.

MAX LETUNOV - UCONN

Max Letunov, UConn (Fr., F; Moscow, Russia) scored a pair goals to extend his point- and goal-scoring streaks to eight and six games, respectively. He also set a new UConn Division I record for most goals scored in a season with his 15th strike of the year.

JORDAN GREENWAY - BOSTON UNIVERSITY

Jordan Greenway, BU (Fr., F; Canton, N.Y.) struck twice in a 6-3 Terriers win Friday at UMass, finishing plusthree in two wins including the Beanpot semifinal win over Northeastern. Greenway has helped BU to the nation's current longest winstreak at five games.

JORDAN GROSS - NOTRE DAME

Jordan Gross, ND (So., D; Maple Grove, Minn.) helped push the Irish to a road sweep at Vermont, finding the back of the net once and registering three primary helpers in a fourpoint weekend. The two wins propelled Notre Dame into first place in the Hockey East standings.

HOCKEY EAST WEEKLY TOP PERFORMERS

Danny O'Regan, BU (Sr., F; Needham, Mass.) Potted a goal and added an assist Friday in a 6-3 win at UMass before assisting on the decisive goal in the semifinals of the Beanpot last Monday.

Tanner Creel, UConn (So., G; Arlington Heights, Ill.) Stopped a career high 43 shots in a 2-2 tie at Merrimack Saturday.

Hampus Gustafsson, MC (Jr., F; Ljungy, Sweden) Recorded two assists in a 2-2 tie with UConn Saturday night.

Brian Christie, MC (Sr., F; West Chester, Pa.) Netted the game-tying marker with less than 57 seconds remaining in regulation Saturday night to salvage a 2-2 stalemate with UConn at home.

Danny Tirone, UNH (So., G; Trumbull, Conn.) Went 1-1-0 against No. 4 BC and No. 8 UML, making 77 saves on 83 shots for a .928 save percentage.

Cal Petersen, ND (So., G; Waterloo, Iowa) Stopped 61 shots in two wins on the road to post 1.00 GAA/.968 SV%.

Erik Foley, PC (Fr., F; Mansfield, Mass.) Scored a goal and added an assist in a two-game sweep of Maine.
