WAKEFIELD, MASS. -- NESN, New England’s most watched sports network; NECN, the nation’s largest regional news network; Cox Sports, Cox Communications’ local sports service; and other NESN Plus channels will provide live coverage of the Hockey East Championship game to all of New England on Saturday, March 22nd at 7 p.m. NESN will air live coverage of the Boston Bruins at Montreal Canadiens game at that time.

“With the Bruins-Canadiens game scheduled at the same time as the Hockey East Championship we needed help to distribute both games live,” said Sean McGrail, NESN president. “We greatly appreciate NECN agreeing to carry our Hockey East Championship and are grateful to Cox Communications and all of our affiliates for their support in carrying the game on Cox Sports Television and other NESN Plus channels. “

NECN news director Thomas Melville said, “NECN is pleased to bring live coverage of the region’s premier conference championship to New England college hockey fans. For those who turn to NECN news that night, we will provide 15 minute newscasts between periods of the Hockey East Championship.” As it does for all major sporting events, NECN will provide full post-game coverage on Sports LateNight at 11 p.m.

NESN Plus is the network of additional channels provided by cable, satellite and telco distributors for delivering live coverage of events played at the same time (i.e., Bruins Hockey/Hockey East Championship or Red Sox Baseball/Bruins Hockey).
