~UNH’s vanRiemsdyk takes Top Rookie honors; Muse named Top Goalie in month~

Gerbe registered a team-high 15 points (8g,7a) in nine games. He registered six
multiple-point performances in the month of March and recorded a point in eight of
the nine games. Gerbe earned Hockey East Tournament MVP honors after he totaled
nine points (4g,5a) in four league tournament wins and captured NCAA Northeast
Regional All-Tournament team honors after tallied three points (2g,1a) in BC victories
over No. 3 seed Minnesota and No. 1 seed Miami.

ITECH Goaltender of the Month
John Muse – Boston College
Freshman Goaltender; East Falmouth, Mass.

Muse went 7-1-1 with a 1.70 GAA and a .978 save percentage in nine starts in
March. He recorded 30 or more saves in seven of eight March games, including
a career-high 45 saves in BC’s 5-4 triple overtime victory over New Hampshire
in the semfinals of the league tournament. Muse was also named to the Hockey
East All-Team, as he posted the second shutout in championship game history.
Muse totaled 142 saves in his four starts in the 24th annual tournament, posting
a .972 save percentage and a 1.28 GAA.

PRO AMBITIONS Rookie of the Month
James vanRiemsdyk – New Hampshire

vanRiemsdyk tallied eight assists in five games averaging 1.60 assists per game
during the month of March. Despite missing two games with illness, vanRiemsdyk
was one of the most productive rookies in Hockey East. Overall, the freshman forward
had three multi-point efforts including having a hand in all three UNH goals in the
NCAA’s against Notre Dame. vanRiemsdyk ranked tied for fourth in the Hockey East
Tournament scoring leaderboard with five points.
