Greg Rosa has been named the 2010-11 Hockey East Intern

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Hockey East Commissioner Joe Bertagna has announced that Greg Rosa, a 2010 graduate of Boston College, has been hired as Hockey East's intern for the upcoming 2010-2011 season. Rosa will assist in day-to-day operations in both the men's and women's league, which includes marketing and media relations efforts throughout the upcoming season.

"Greg has a number of great experiences on his resume for a recent college graduate. We are thrilled to have him as part of league staff for the upcoming season," said Bertagna.

Rosa, a graduate of BC's Carroll School of Management with a concentration in marketing and human resource management, has worked for the Boston Bruins the last three years in a media relations capacity on game nights at the TD Garden. While at the Bruins, Rosa was responsible for compiling statistics packages and press clippings for the media and Bruins' team management. He also recorded and edited video of post-game press conferences for the club's website and he also transcribed audio for members of the media. Rosa also played a key media relations role in the Bruins hosting the Winter Classic at Fenway Park this past season.

Rosa interned with the Bay State Games for the last two years, writing feature stories and game recaps. While at the Heights, Rosa was a member of Fenway Sports Group game day team at Boston College in the fall of 2009. At FSG, Rosa helped grow corporate support for the athletic programs and assisted with the on-field and off-field promotions on game days.

He also coached tennis (2007-08) to inner city youth with the Tenacity program at the Boston Athletic Club and he also taught and coached a team of kindergartners in the Billerica (MA) Youth Basketball program in 2005-2006. The Hockey East graduate intern program is in its fifth year of existence, with Scott Donnelly (Providence '06), Andrew Bartlett (Providence '07), Elizabeth Paige Fierman (BU '08) and Stephanie Bambury (St. Michael's '09) having served before Rosa.

The Hockey East Association is a 10-team Division I college men's hockey conference founded in 1984 and an eightteam Division I women's league which began play in 2002-03. The men's league has won eight NCAA championships in the past 18 years.
