BOSTON COLLEGE DEFEATS ST. LAWRENCE, 4-1
Brock Bradford has goal and two assists for Eagles

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) -- Freshman forward Ben Smith scored a goal and added an assist to help Boston College to a 4-1 win over St. Lawrence on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Division I Northeast Regional hockey tournament.

The Eagles improved to 27-11-1 and play Miami (OH) in the Regional final Sunday. The winner moves on to the Frozen Four in St. Louis April 5 and 7.

St. Lawrence finished its season with a 23-14-2 record.

Senior defenseman Brian Boyle and sophomore forward Andrew Orpik and Brock Bradford scored the other goals for BC, the No. 2 seed in the tournament. Sophomore forward Nathan Gerbe had a pair of assists.

Sophomore forward Brock McBride scored for St. Lawrence.

Junior goaltender Cory Schneider made 24 saves for BC. Freshman Alex Petizian had 31 for the Saints.
