BOSTON COLLEGE SHUTS OUT VERMONT, 1-0
Junior Cory Schneider posts 11th career shutout

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -Sophomore Nathan Gerbe scored a third-period goal and junior goalie Cory Schneider made 33 saves to lead Boston College to a 1-0 Hockey East win over Vermont before 4,118 fans in Kelley Rink.

Gerbe netted the game's lone goal at 6:25 of the third period. Junior Dan Bertram and senior Brian Boyle assisted on the score.

Schneider made three saves in the first period, 11 saves in the second period and 19 saves in the third period to record his second shutout of the season and the 11th of his collegiate career.

Vermont (2-4-1, 0-1-1 Hockey East) outshot the host Eagles, 33-21.

Vermont junior goalie Joe Fallon finished with 20 saves.

Boston College (5-2-0, 2-1-0 HE) returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 7 against Harvard. The game will be played in Harvard's Bright Arena.
