BOSTON - Senior Sean Maguire made a season-high 38 saves and classmate Matt Grzelcyk's second-period tally was nearly the game's lone goal, but the No. 10 Boston University men's ice hockey team settled for a 1-1 draw with No. 4 Boston College on Saturday evening at Agganis Arena.

BC junior Ryan Fitzgerald scored from the right slot with 2:05 left in regulation to spoil Maguire's shutout bid and allow the Eagles to earn three of four points in the weekend home-and-home series.

Grzelcyk tipped home an offering from fellow senior Danny O'Regan at 11:10 of the middle stanza after O'Regan picked off a BC clearing attempt.

Freshman Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson nearly turned in a highlight-reel goal on an initial rush, but his effort was saved and O'Regan was able to keep the puck in the zone to create the goal and open the scoring.

BC, which got a 30-save performance from junior Thatcher Demko, held a 39-31 shot advantage. Each team went 0-for-5 on the power play.

The Terriers will return to action on Friday (Jan. 22) when they visit Maine to open up a home-and-home series with the Black Bears. The game, which will be broadcast nationally on FCS Atlantic, starts at 7:30 p.m.
