PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Nine Friars found the scoresheet as the Providence College men's hockey team skated to a 4-4 draw with Boston College in a battle of top-10 teams at Schneider Arena on Saturday night.

No. 3 Providence improves to 13-3-4 overall and 4-1-3 in Hockey East play, while the seventh-ranked Eagles upped their record to 14-4-2 (7-1-2 HEA).

The Friars held a 4-1 lead midway through the contest, before three consecutive tallies by the Eagles leveled the score early in the third, prior to a scoreless extra session.

Nick Ellis made some notable stops along the way as he improved to 12-3-4 after a 28-save effort. Eagles netminder Ian Milosz (1-0-1) made 38 saves for the visitors.

After Ian McCoshen gave the Eagles an early 1-0 lead on the power play, the Friars responded in a big way with three straight goals to close out the opening period. Freshman Erik Foley got things started with his third of the season off an impressive maneuver from behind the net and snap shot that beat Milosz high above the blocker to tie the game early.

Providence struck twice in the waning seconds of the first as Nick Saracino jammed home a rebound at 19:29 and John Gilmour banked home a shot from behind the net at 19:46 to put the Friars up 3-1 after 20 minutes.

The Friars continued to storm the BC zone in the second period and cashed in once against on Trevor Mingoia's fourth strike of the season at 6:30, after the senior forced a turnover and received a slick feed from Mark Jankowski.

The Eagles however, responded in a big way on a delayed penalty as Teddy Doherty struck for a goal, followed by Tuch's tally that brought BC within a goal on the ensuing power play.

Providence looked poised to regain the lead in the third, with the best chance coming off of Foley's stick but the freshman found the crossbar just above the blocker of Milosz.

Overtime yielded nothing as the two squads only generated a combined three shots in the extra frame.

Up next, the Friars head up to Burlington for a two-game set against Vermont next weekend at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
