ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine Men's Ice Hockey team fell to #11 ranked Boston University Friday night at Alfond Arena, 5-2.

With the loss Maine falls to 5-14-6 on the year and 2-7-2 in Hockey East, Boston University improves their record to 12-7-4 overall and is 6-4-3 in Hockey East.

Matt Morris started in goal for the Black Bears and Sean Maguire got the start for the Terriers.

Boston University opened with the first goal 14:19 into the first period from Matt Grzelcyk to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead. Maine outshot Boston University 15-13 after the first.

4:18 seconds into the second, Ahti Oksanen scored his first goal of the night to increase the Terrier lead, 2-0.

A cross checking penaly was called moments later on Boston University to give Maine a power play opportunity, their first of the night.

One minute later, Cam Brown struck with a power play goal the first of the night for Maine. The power play goal was set up by Steven Swavely and Blaine Byron to trim Boston University's lead 2-1.

The Terriers anaswered midway through the second, Mike Moran scored and increased their lead 3-1. Boston University outshot Maine 14-8 in the second period.

:51 seconds into the third period Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson scored the fourth BU goal of the night for a commanding 4-1 lead.

The Terriers were called for an elbowing penalty. Blaine Byron scored the second power play goal of the night to close the lead 4-2.

BU responded :24 seconds later, Ahti Oksanen with his second of the night to secure the 5-2 win for the Terriers.

Sean Maguire finished with 32 saves, Matt Morris had 29 on the night.

Maine returns to action tomorrow night as they travel to Boston University, puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.
