GAME RECAP

* UNH, with a stretch of four consecutive power-play minutes, dominated the opening 10 minutes of play and generated an 11-0 shot advantage.

* Bentley scored goals less then two minutes apart to quickly take a 2-0 lead.

* Connor Brassard's one-timer from the top of the right circle sailed inside the near post to break the scoreless tie at 12:33; Max French, with the pass from the slot, and Cody DePourcq were credited with assists.

* On a faceoff to the right of UNH goalie Danny Tirone (Trumbull, conn.), French drew the puck back to the top of the circle and Alexey Solovyev blasted a shot into the cage at 14:28.

* In the seventh minute of the second period, Bentley's Matt Riggleman corralled a tape-to-tape pass through the neutral zone for a breakaway down the slot. He shifted to his backhand in the low slot and attempted to shoot between Tirone's leg pads, but the junior goalie made the save to keep the margin at two goals.

* The game was delayed 15 minutes at 11:18 of the second period because of a fire alarm activation.

* UNH trimmed the deficit to 2-1 at 16:41 of the middle stanza when Ara Azarian (Boxford, Mass.) rifled a shot from the right faceoff dot into the cage. Jason Salvaggio (Hanson, Mass.) set up the tally.

* Dino Balsamo scored 36 seconds on a floating backhand from between the hashmarks in the slot to reestablish a two-goal lead, 3-1, at 17:17. Jake Kauppila was credited with an assist.

* Jonathan Desbiens extended the advantage to 4-1 just 14 seconds into the third period when his centering pass from the left corner caromed off a UNH defenseman into the net.

* The Wildcats pulled Tirone in favor of an extra skater with 4:33 remaining and a Falcons skater was sent to the penalty box at 16:24 to give the 'Cats a two-skater advantage. But Schmidt scored seven seconds later for a shorthanded, empty-net goal to make it 5-1.
