BC HIGHLIGHTS & GAME NOTES

- Boston College recorded its first regular-season draw to open the season since the 1922-23 season, and second ever in program history with the 1-1 stalemate on Friday night. The Eagles tied the Boston Hockey Club on Oct. 25, 1922, 3-3.

- Jacob Tortora scored his first goal in game-tying fashion while junior captain Casey Fitzgerald and classmate JD Dudek picked up points with the help. Tortora's tally was a power play goal, as well.

GOAL DESCRIPTIONS

FIRST GOAL (1-0 - Quinnipiac) SECOND PERIOD - Alex Whelan - 15:10 - EVEN STRENGTH
• The Bobcats drew first blood around the 25-minute mark of regulation, as John Furgele stripped the puck in BC's zone and flipped it out to Odeen Tufto in transition on the red line. Alex Whelan joined the fray and connected on the one-timer wrister high between the circles to give the Bobcats' an early 1-0 edge in the second stanza.

SECOND GOAL (1-1 - Boston College) THIRD PERIOD - Jacob Tortora - 15:59 - POWER PLAY
• Quinnipiac got cited with a too many men infraction at 15:51 of the third period and rookie Jacob Tortora made the Bobcats pay eight seconds into the power play. Christopher Brown won the draw back to JD Dudek. Dudek touched it off to Casey Fitzgerald within the blue line and blasted it into the chest of Andrew Shortridge immediately after Dudek's feed. The puck caromed off his pads right to the lumber of Tortora on the short-side doorstep. Tortora wasted no time and roofed it over Shortridge's glove at 15:59 to tie the game with the late power play marker.
