ST. CLOUD, Minn. - No. 13 Boston College took a couple of early penalties in the first period and No. 3 St. Cloud made the Eagles pay, scoring a pair of power play goals with an even-strength tally sandwiched in between to claim a 3-1 victory on Saturday night, completing the sweep.

Junior forward JD Dudek scored late in the third to make things interesting, but the Huskies' advantage was too big as the Eagles could not finish off the comeback bid.

Sophomore goaltender Joseph Woll returned to staff the pipes and stopped 21-of-24 shots in the loss.

GOAL DESCRIPTIONS

FIRST GOAL (1-0 - St. Cloud) FIRST PERIOD - Jack Poehling - 2:17 - POWER PLAY
- Kevin Fitzgerald drew a hooking penalty on Luke McInnis 55 seconds into the contest and St. Cloud cashed in with 38 seconds left in the power play to go up early, 1-0, at 2:17. Blake Lizotte had a look on the right post and it bobbled around where Jack Ahcan got another whack at it. Joseph Woll made the initial stops, but St. Cloud kept attacking and Jack Poehling was able to slip it past Woll on the doorstep.

SECOND GOAL (2-0 - St. Cloud) FIRST PERIOD - Ryan Poehling - 12:47 - EVEN STRENGTH
- St. Cloud doubled its early advantage at 12:47 of the first period after Ryan Poehling beat Woll in tight. Mikey Eyssimont paddled the puck out of the left corner over to Kevin Fitzgerald on the other side behind the net. Ryan Poehling skated through the circles and Fitzgerald took it wide and connected with Poehling in front. Poehling quickly tipped it past Woll on the doorstep to make it a 2-0 affair.

THIRD GOAL (3-0 - St. Cloud) FIRST PERIOD - Mikey Eyssimont - 19:30 - EVEN STRENGTH
- A late penalty to close out the first yielded a 3-0 lead for the Huskies with 29.5 seconds left to play in the opening frame. St. Cloud cycled through its power play and Jimmy Schuldt connected up top on the right circle with Mikey Eyssimont. He waited until he saw a seam through traffic and wristed it past Woll for St. Cloud's second power play goal of the first period.

FOURTH GOAL (3-1 - Boston College) THIRD PERIOD - JD Dudek - 13:45 - EVEN STRENGTH
- Boston College curbed its scoreless streak with 6:15 left in regulation in transition on a nice play generated by Julius Mattila and capped by JD Dudek. Mattila streaked down the right side with numbers and tossed the puck at SCSU goaltender David Hrenak. The puck pinballed out to the crease where David Cotton got a piece of it and JD Dudek crashed the crease to nudge the disc over the goal line to make it a 3-1 contest.
