LOWELL, Mass. -- The No. 18 ranked UMass Lowell Hockey team was defeated by Bentley, 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday night in non-conference play at the Tsongas Center.

Ryner Gorowsky scored the game-winner for Bentley at 3:24 of overtime to give the Falcons the victory. UMass Lowell drops to 8-7-0 overall, while the Falcons improve to 4-7-3 overall, which includes three straight victories.

Senior forward Jake Kamrass (Atlanta, Ga.) opened the scoring in the game for UMass Lowell with his fourth tally of the season just 5:35 into the opening period. Bentley's Connor Brassard tied the game at 1-1 with 7:42 left in the first period on his third goal of the season. The River Hawks owned a 10-2 shot advantage in the opening period against the Falcons.

Junior forward Nick Master (Broomall, Pa.) gave the River Hawks a 2-1 advantage at 6:31 of the middle stanza on his second goal of the season and Charlie Marchand evened the game for the Falcons at 2-2 with 2:24 left in the second period.

The team skated to a scoreless third period, as UMass Lowell outshot Bentley, 7-0 in the third frame.

Senior defenseman Chris Forney (Thief River Falls, Minn.) totaled a game-high five shots on goal for the River Hawks in the losing effort. Master won a game-high 11 face-offs on the evening.

Junior goaltender Christoffer Hernberg (Espoo, Finland) made 10 saves in his second loss of the season for the River Hawks, while his counterpart Aidan Pelino recorded 25 saves in his third win of the season for Bentley.

The River Hawks return to action on Friday, December 8th against Hockey East rival Boston University. Game time from the Tsongas Center is 7:15 p.m.
