Freshman forward Tyler Madden posted a goal and an assist for the Huskies
Northeastern Falls to Union in Overtime, 4-3

BOSTON, Mass. - ole Maier's goal 23 seconds into overtime completed the comeback for No. 20 Union (3-0-1), which erased 2-0 and 3-2 deficits to come back and knock off No. 12 Northeastern men's hockey (2-1-0) on Friday night at Matthews Arena, 4-3.

Tyler Madden (one goal, one assist), Jeremy Davies (two assists) and Brandon Hawkins (two assists) all logged multi-point efforts on the night, while Cayden Primeau made 25 saves and Zach Solow won 11-of-16 face-offs, but 37 saves from Union's Darion Hanson at the other end and three points from Brett Supinski (two goals, one assist) kept the Dutchmen in the game all night.

Both teams provided the fireworks during an entertaining first period that saw the Huskies bolt out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Lincoln Griffin and Madden (power play) less than seven minutes in before the Dutchmen responded with a pair of their own from Supinski, including a shorthanded marker with 2:47 left in the period to knot the game at two.

The Northeastern power play struck again 7:48 into the middle stanza as Liam Pecararo found the back of the net for the second straight game off a nifty feed from Davies to give Northeastern a 3-2 lead through 40 minutes.

Union continued to fight back, though, and buried a power play strike of its own less than two minutes into the third period as Sebastian Vidmar rifled a shot top corner from the right dot to force overtime, setting up Maier in the opening minute of extra time off a loose puck in front of Primeau to give the Dutchmen the win.
