BOSTON - Breaking through a 2-2 deadlock off a late third period goal from Zach Solow, the No. 13 Northeastern men's hockey team (8-4-2, 5-3-1 Hockey East) completed the weekend sweep over the Maine Black Bears (7-5-2, 4-4-2 Hockey East) in a 3-2 decision on Saturday night at Matthews Arena. With the sweep, the Huskies extended their recent win streak against the Black Bears to eight-consecutive games.

After a quiet start to the conference clash, freshman Jayden Struble came out firing, knocking in his first collegiate goal off the look from Aidan McDonough and Tyler Madden to send the Huskies into the first break with the 1-0 lead.

Maine turned the tides in the second period in efforts to avoid the sweep and squelch Northeastern's momentum, posting a pair of tallies to send the Huskies into the third period at a 2-1 deficit.

Pinging one off the pipe and just past the shoulder of Maine's Jeremy Swayman, Neil Shea registered his first goal as a Husky off the low-angle shot and locked the teams up at 2-2 at 4:16 into the final frame. With minutes left to go, Solow called game with a shot on the doorstep to extend his point streak to three-consecutive games and tally his second-consecutive game-winning goal.

Between the pipes, Craig Pantano stopped 26 shots on the night and picked up his third straight win for the Huskies.
