Sophomore goaltender Connor Murphy made 32 saves for the Huskies

LOWELL, Mass. - Connor Murphy earned his second career shutout with 32 saves and an assist, while Michael Kesselring, Tyler Spott, Aidan McDonough and Ty Jackson all scored goals to lead No. 16 Northeastern (8-6-2) in a 4-0 win over UMass Lowell (5-8-0) on Saturday night inside the Tsongas Center.

Northeastern opened the scoring early in the first period with goals from Kesselring and Spott, earning their fifth and second goals of the season. Jackson and Sam Colangelo each posted an assist as well in the period.

The scoring frenzy continued moving into the second with Aidan McDonough putting one past UMass Lowell's goaltender with help from Johnny DeRoche, giving the Huskies a 3-0 lead. McDonough now leads in scoring for the Huskies with nine goals on the season. Jackson earned his seventh goal of the season to close out the night on a power-play goal with less than a second left in the third period giving the Huskies a 4-0 win over the River Hawks with help from Spott and Murphy.

The Huskies look to build from this as they await their opponent next week.
