STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team lost a non-conference match-up on the road to Syracuse, 4-0, Friday night. The Huskies dropped to 1-6-2 overall and the Orange improved to 4-6-0 on the season.

Syracuse scored twice and the first period and twice in the third. Sophomore netminder Kallie Ballideau made 17 saves to earn the shutout.

Junior Jessica Sorensen and freshman Jordyn Burns each tallied first period scores for the Orange. Sorensen scored her second of the game at the 15:35 mark of the third on a power play, preceded by sophomore Margot Scharfe at the 10:53 mark.

Sophomore goaltender Nicole Paniccia (Oakville, Ont.) provided 30 saves for UConn. For the game, Syracuse outshot Connecticut 34-17.

The Huskies and Orange face-off again tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 pm.
