Merrimack downed Holy Cross in a pair of conference games last weekend, moving to 9-1-2 on the year, earning the program's first-ever Hockey East season series sweep. Freshman Gabby Jones (Westfield, Mass.) recorded three points on the weekend, with two goals and one assist all coming in Saturday's 6-2 road victory.

Northeastern won its ninth consecutive game to improve to 10-1-1 on the year and 9-0-1 in Women's Hockey East tilts. A duo of Husky freshmen powered the offense, as Chloe Aurard (Villard-de-Lans, France/1g, 5a) and Alina Mueller (Winterthur, Switzerland/2g, 3a) scored 11 points for Northeastern to earn Player of the Week and Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week, respectively. Aurard dished out four helpers in Saturday's 5-3 win.

Providence won a pair of weekend games over Maine and Vermont thanks in part to the goaltending of WHEA Defensive Player of the Week Madison Myers (Colchester, Vt.). Myers stopped 47 shots, including 24 on Sunday in her third shutout of the season. Myers has now allowed two or fewer goals in each of her eight starts this year.

Boston University topped UConn, 4-1, in its lone game of the weekend. Sophomore forward Jesse Compher (Northbrook, Ill.) tied her career highs in goals (2) and points (3) in the victory, including a shorthanded goal, and finished a plusfour, while her classmate Corrine Schroeder (Elm Creek, Man.) stopped 30 of 31 shots she faced, including all 11 in the third. It marked the fifth-straight start in which she has allowed two or fewer goals.

UConn downed Maine, 4-1, on Saturday to earn a weekend split and pull within one game of .500 in Hockey East play. Junior forward Catherine Crawley (Washingtonville, N.Y.) picked up a goal and two assists in the win and now has at least one point in each of the 12 games in which she has appeared thi s season. She leads the Huskies with 13 points (5g, 8a) on the year.

Chloe Aurard - Northeastern

Chloe Aurard (Fr., F; Villardde- Lans, France) racked up six points in a weekend sweep of New Hampshire. In Friday's 3-0 victory, she posted a goal and an assist before handing out four helpers in Saturday's come-from-behind 5-3 win. Set set up both the game-tying and game-winning tallies to become the first Northeastern skater to register four assists in a game since 2006. She finished the weekend with a plus-six rating.


PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Alina Mueller - Northeastern

Alina Mueller (Fr., F; Winterthur, Switzerland) picked up five points (2g, 3a) in two wins for the Huskies. She netted Friday's game-winning goal in a shorthanded situation and extended her point streak to 11 games. She now leads the country in scoring among freshmen with 18 points (7g, 11a) in just 12 games.

Madison Myers - Providence

Madison Myers (Sr., G; Colchester, Vt.) stopped 47 shots across two starts this weekend, allowing just one goal in two victories for Providence. Her 24-save outing on Sunday was her third shutout of the year in eight starts and she currently sits second in the nation in goals against average (1.00). She hasn't allowed more than two goals in any game this season.


WOMEN’S HOCKEY EAST TOP PERFORMERS

Jesse Compher, BU (So., F; Northbrook, Ill.) Tied her career highs in goals (2) and points (3) during a 4-1 win at UConn on Friday. She opened the Terriers' scoring, netted a shorthanded goal, and finished a plus-four.

Sammy Davis, BU (Jr., F; Pembroke, Mass.) Potted two tallies, including an unassisted game-winning goal, and set up Compher's shorthanded marker in a 4-1 win over UConn on Friday to finish plus-four.

Corrine Schroeder, BU (So., G; Elm Creek, Man.) Stopped 30 of 31 shots she faced on Friday at UConn, including all 11 in the third. It marked the fifth-straight start in which she has allowed two or fewer goals.

Cailey Hutchison, ME (Sr., F; Hicksville, N.Y.) Earned the primary assist on Maine's lone goal against UConn on Saturday. She fired 11 shots on net during two games last weekend.

Carly Jackson, ME (Jr., G; Amherst, N.S.) Posted a 30-save performance against Providence on Friday, a 3-1 setback. She earned the third star of the game for her efforts.

Gabby Jones, MC (Fr., F; Westfield, Mass.) Recorded three points this weekend in a sweep of Holy Cross, with two goals and one assist all coming in Saturday's 6-2 road victory. The rookie forward earned her first career goal and first career multi-goal game in that outing.

Kyra Smith, UNH (Sr., G; Littleton, Colo.) Made 75 saves across two games, including a career-high 40 saves on Friday.

Aerin Frankel, NU (So., G; Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) Pitched her NCAA-best fourth shutout in her sixth start this season, making 26 saves Friday at UNH in a 3-0 victory. In league play alone, Frankel is 5-0-0 and stopped 123 of the 124 shots she has faced, earning a .992 save percentage. Her 0.67 GAA and .973 SV% lead the country in 2018-19.

Christina Putigna, PC (Sr., F; Grimsby, Ont.) Earned three points (2g, 1a) in two games this weekend, helping the Friars the a 3-1 win over Maine and 2-0 win at Vermont. She is currently riding a four-game point streak (4g, 3a) and three-game goal streak. She has assisted on three of the Friars game-winning goals during their current four-game winning streak.
