Boston College: The Boston College Eagles dropped a 3-1 loss to Providence on Friday, January
21…despite the loss, Molly Schaus shined with 28 saves against the Friars to hold Providence to just
three goals…Kelli Stack continued with her scoring streak with an unassisted shorthanded goal…it was
her second shorthanded goal of the season…she has tallied at least one point in 19 of 23 games this
season…With 39 points (24g,15a), Stack continues to lead all BC players in goals and points scoring…the
Eagles hammered Providence's goalie with 51 shots, 33 in the final frame alone, which marked the most
shots for BC this season.
Boston University: The N o. 3 Boston University women's ice hockey team won its 100th game
in program history with a 4-0 win over Vermont…Freshman Marie-Philip Poulin's second first-period
marker gave the forward 40 points for the season, breaking Melissa Anderson's ('10) previous record of
39…Anderson set the mark during the 2009-10 season…Poulin later added a power-play goal in the third
period to complete the hat trick and tie Anderson's single-season goals mark…Freshman Kerrin Sperry
made nine saves to secure her fifth shutout of the season and improve to 14-0-2...The Terriers tied the
2006-07 squad with their 19th victory of the season and equaled a program-best unbeaten streak with
their 11th straight win…BU went unbeaten in 11 contests earlier this season (8-0-3).
University of Connecticut: UConn has now won five straight games to improve to 12-13-1 overall
and 8-4-1 in Hockey East action...With the two wins over Maine this weekend, the Huskies swept the season
series, the second sweep on the year as UConn swept Vermont last weekend...With her goal and assist
against Maine, Jennifer Chaisson became just the fourth Husky to post 80 career points...For the third
weekend in a row freshman Alexandra Vakos has recorded at least one point, and now has 11 points on
the season with three goals and eight assists...Alexandra Garica recorded her fifth shutout of the season
on Friday with her 31 save performance and now has 11 shutouts during her career.
University of Maine: Maine dropped a pair of home WHEA contests to UConn over the weekend…
Brittany Dougherty (Chesterfield, Mich.) notched the lone goal of the weekend for Maine, a goal
which set a new career high for goals in a season (12) and points in a season (24) for the sophomore
center…Her 24 points are fifth most overall amongst WHEA players…With an assist on Saturday, junior
defender Ashley Norum (Fairbanks, Alaska) set a new career high with her 11th assist...Jennie Gallo
(Castlegar, British Columbia) is tied for seventh nationally with six power play goals on the season…As
a unit, the Black Bears' power play ranks 11th nationally as they are cashing in on 17.6% of their power
play opportunities…Saturday was Maine's annual "Skating Strides Against Breast Cancer" game. Maine
wore special pink jerseys that are being auctioned off with all proceeds going towards Breast Cancer
Research and Awareness.
University of New Hampshire: For the second consecutive game, UNH recorded a road victory
against the ninth-ranked team in the nation when the Wildcats prevailed 4-3 in overtime at Northeastern
this past weekend; the 'Cats upended Providence, 2-1, one week earlier...The four-goal output at NU marked
the team's highest total in a league game this season...UNH has a 2-1-0 record in overtime games and
is 6-1 in games decided by one goal...Kayley Herman recorded a career-high 40 saves vs. NU to improve
to 6-0-1 lifetime against the Huskies...Following her one-goal, two-assist effort at NU, Arielle O'Neill has
tallied a team-high nine points (5g, 4a) in 10 road games...Courtney Birchard has scored the game-winning
goal each of UNH's last two games at NU's Matthews A rena; she netted the OT goal Saturday and broke
a 1-1 tie with a late third-period shorthanded goal in Nov. 2009.
Northeastern University: The Huskies are mired in a three-game losing streak, the longest of the
season. This weekend was the first time the Huskies lost both games in a single weekend...Northeastern
and Providence played in front of a sold-out crowd at the Bog in Kingston, Mass. on Sunday...Siena
Falino added two assists in Saturday's game against UNH. She now has points in five of her last seven
games (2-6-8)...Northeastern will not host a game at Matthews Arena again until Feb. 12 when BU visits.
Three straight road games are on the docket for the Huskies before the first round of the Beanpot and
a road date with BU...The home loss to UNH was the first time Northeastern lost at Matthews Arena to
an opponent other than BC.
Providence College: The Friars played Northeastern in front of a sold-out crowd at The Bog Skating
Rink in Kingston, Mass. The contest, originally scheduled to be an NU home game, was moved in an effort
to bring the women's game out into the community…Senior co-captain Alyse Ruff (Tualatin, Ore.) has
now played in 133 games for the Friars. She is on pace to finish the regular season with 141, a mark that
would put her two shy of the all-time record.
University of Vermont: Vermont is 3-1-7 when scoring the first goal this season...Vermont has
gone to overtime 10 times in 26 games this season...The Catamounts nine ties, leads the nation, and is a
single season Vermont record...Senior captain Celeste Doucet leads the team in scoring with four goals and
eight assists for 12 points in 26 games...Sophomore Erin Wente leads the team with seven goals…Vermont
faces Northeastern and Providence in Hockey East action at home this weekend…Vermont is 1-4 at home
in conference play this season.
