2010-11 New England Division I Women's Hockey All-Stars & Awards Announced

The New England Hockey Writers Division I Women's New England All-Star team and awards have been finalized after careful deliberation from a panel of administrators and media throughout the region. This year's banquet will be held on Wednesday, April 13 at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus, Mass. The banquet will start at 6 p.m. All awards and All-Star teams will be presented at the gala. All coaches, student athletes, family members and friends are encouraged to attend Wednesday's banquet. Contact Pete Souris at (781) 245-2122 for information on attending this event. Cost is $35 per person.

Boston College senior forward Kelli Stack was voted New England's Division I Women's Player of the Year after she led Hockey East in points (56) and goals (34). One of the three finalists for the Patty Kazmaier Award, Stack helped lead BC to the Frozen Four. She was also named a Second Team All-American.

Mark Hudak of Dartmouth reaped the New England Division I Women's Coach of the Year honor after leading Dartmouth to a 22-12 record and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. The Big Green had a 10-win improvement over last season's mark and finished the season as the eighth-ranked team in the nation.

The Women's Division I New England All-Star team consisted of six forwards, four defenseman and two goaltenders.

Junior Mary Restuccia joins her teammate Stack as a forward after she led Hockey East with 28 assists (11-28-39). The four other forwards on the team are freshman Marie-Philip Poulin (24-23-47) and junior Jenn Wakefield (32-22-54) of Boston University, freshman Kelly Babstock of Quinnipiac (30-29-59) and junior Kelly Foley of Dartmouth (17-14-31).

Senior Catherine Ward of BU (4-27-31), senior Courtney Birchard of New Hampshire (8-7-15), senior Amber Yung of Providence (1-15-16) and sophomore Josephine Pucci of Harvard (12-13-25) made up the Women's All-New England blue line.

Between the pipes, seniors Molly Schaus of Boston College and Jackee Snikeris of Yale make up the goaltending corps. Schaus was the goaltender on the All-American First Team. She went 24-5-4 with a 1.45 goals against average and .942 save percentage in leading the Eagles to the Frozen Four. Snikeris boasted an impressive 1.98 goals against average and a .941 save percentage in her last year at Yale.
