Cambridge, Mass. -- The Women's Hockey East Association announced the league's 2011 All-Star teams on Friday night at the Royal Sonesta Hotel at the annual WHEA Championship Awards Banquet.

Boston College senior forward Kelli Stack (Brooklyn Heights, Ohio), the three-time WHEA Player of the Year, headlined the group of First-Team All-Stars as a unanimous selection, while teammate Molly Schaus (Natick, Mass.) was the First-Team goaltender on the squad. Boston University placed three student-athletes on the First-Team, which included, junior Jenn Wakefield (Pickering, Ont.), freshman Marie-Philip Poulin (Beauceville, Que.) up front and senior Catherine Ward (Montreal, Que.) as the only unanimous selection on defense. Rounding out the team was senior defenseman Courtney Birchard (Mississauga, Ont.) from the University of New Hampshire.

Providence placed two athletes on the Second-Team, which included defenseman Amber Yung (Rockville, Va.) and forward Kate Bacon (Chanhassen, Minn), while Connecticut also earned two spots with junior Alexandra Garcia (Pointe-Claire, Que.) in goal and junior Sami Evelyn (Nepean, Ont.) on the blueline. Jillian Kirchner (Frankfort, Ill.) from Boston University was also honored at the forward position, along with BC junior Mary Restuccia (Chester Springs, Pa.).
