~ BC's Carpenter named Top Rookie; NU's Schelling earns Top Goalie honor ~

Wakefield finished October as the conference leader in points (10) and
goals (6) in eight games. She registered a point in five of the eight games
with three multi-point efforts in the month, which included a four-point
game against Niagara on Oct. 8th. Wakefield had a five-game scoring
streak in the month from Oct. 7 to Oct. 22 and had two multi-goal efforts
during that time.

Florence Schelling – Northeastern
Senior Goaltender; Oberengstringen, Switz. |
Schelling leads Hockey East goaltenders in save percentage (.939)
and GAA (1.50) to go along with a 5-1-0 record for a Northeastern
squad off to its best start in a decade. She has already recorded
two shutouts this season, against Colgate on Oct. 8 and at Yale
on Oct. 22. Most recently she recorded a series of brilliant saves
among her 28 stops in the Huskies' Hockey East debut, a 3-2
victory over Maine on Oct. 28.

Alex Carpenter – Boston College

Carpenter posted 11 points (6g,5a) to lead Boston College in scoring
over her first month of collegiate competition in eight games.
The center registered one game-winning goal and assisted another
against top 10 teams. Carpenter's 1.38 points per game leads all
Hockey East rookies and is fifth best in the nation. She notched a
point in six of eight games and had three multiple point efforts in
the month.
