NORTHEASTERN'S FLORENCE SCHELLING NAMED CCM HOCKEY FIRST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN

Northeastern's Florence Schelling was named a First team All-American

DULUTH, MN — Seven players competing for an NCAA Women's National Collegiate Ice Hockey Championship in Duluth, Minnesota, this weekend have been honored as 2012 CCM DIVISION I WOMEN'S HOCKEY ALL-AMERICANS, it was announced today by the American Hockey Coaches Association. NCAA semifinalist Cornell leads the way with three selections, followed by two each from North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin, the latter two schools also competing this weekend.

Noteworthy among the selections:

• Seven players have been previously honored, including Cornell's junior defenseman Laura Fortino, who was named a First Team selection for the third year in a row.

• Six players come from the United States; four come from Canada; and two come from Europe (Switzerland and Slovakia), both of those being goaltenders.

• There are five seniors, six juniors and one sophomore.

• The first sisters to be honored are Jocelyne Lamoureux and Monique Lamoureux-Kolls, both juniors at the University of North Dakota.

• Eight selections came from the WCHA, three from the ECAC and one from Hockey East.
