Boston College: Alex Carpenter has three goals and three assists in three
career games vs. Minnesota-Duluth...Blake Bolden is second in the Hockey East
in penalty minutes with 20...All three of Ashley Motherwell's goals have come on
the power play. She is tied for first in the Hockey East in power play goals...Alex
Carpenter's game winning goal on Friday night now gives her four game winning
goals in her career.
Boston University: No. 3 Boston University moved to 7-1-0 on the season and
3-0-0 in Hockey East after wins this past weekend against Maine and Robert Morris…
Senior Jenelle Kohanchuk notched her 100th point with an assist on Kayla
Tutino's game-winning goal on Saturday. Kohanchuk is the sixth Terrier to reach
the 100-point plateau and the fourth to tally all 100 points at BU…Junior Kerrin
Sperry notched her first shutout of the season on Saturday and now has eight
career shutouts…BU has five of the league's top 10 point-getters…Poulin (12)
and Isabel Menard (8) and Jill Cardella (8) lead the league in assists…Seven of
the league's top eight skaters in plus-minus are Terriers…Freshman Sarah Lefort
leads the nation with three game-winning goals…BU has not lost in regulation at
Walter Brown Arena since Jan. 15, 2012 (10-0-0)
University of Connecticut: Junior Kelly Horan led UConn with three points on
one goal and two assists, all coming in Friday night's win over Syracuse. Horan,
UConn's active leader in career points notched the 50th of her career with her
first period goal against the Orange...On Friday night, the Huskies did not commit
a penalty for the first time this season...Sarah Moses made 38 saves in her home
debut on Friday night and added another 34 on Saturday
University of Maine: The Black Bears fell short of the Boston University Terriers
on Friday night by a core of 4-2 and lost a tough battle to the Northeastern Huskies
on Saturday afternoon by a score of 3-0. Chloe Tinkler scored her first goal of the
season against Boston University. Brittany Dougherty picked up another assist as
she continues to lead the team in points with seven thus far. Kelsey MacSorely
scored her first career goal as a Black Bear against the Terriers. Brittany Ott and
Meghann Treacy split time for Maine this past weekend between the pipes as they
combined for 65 saves and seven goals against.
University of New Hampshire: New Hampshire dropped a pair of games at
Wisconsin over the weekend. Up until the series, the Wildcats had scored a power
play goal in each of their first five games of the season. Three Wildcats have tallied
20-plus shots in the year while eight total 'Cats have notched more than 10 shots.
First year Sara Carlson leads the Wildcats with a +4 rating.
Northeastern University: Northeastern's tie against Robert Morris on Friday made
the Huskies 20-1-2 all-time against current CHA member schools, and hasn't lost to
a CHA school since 2007…Saturday's win against Maine extended NU's unbeaten
streak against the Black Bears to eight games (6-0-2), the second-longest active
streak against any NU opponent this season (Vermont)…Kendall Coyne has at
least one point in each of her last three games (4g,1a), and is one of four players
in WHEA with double-digit points this year…NU's three shutouts in seven games is
the fastest NU has earned three shutouts since 2008-09 season.
Providence College: Providence College moved its overall record to 4-3-1 on the
season with a tie and win over St. Cloud State. After going down 2-0 on Saturday, the
Friars rallied to score two goals during the third period. Sophomore Beth Hanrahan
(Poolesville, Md.) notched her first goal and point of the season. Junior Corinne Buie
(Edina, Minn.) put the tying goal in with just 19.2 seconds remaining in the third to
send the game into overtime. Sunday's match-up included a hat trick and an assist
for senior Nicole Anderson in the 4-2 win over St. Cloud. Anderson is now tied for
fourth in goals (6) in Hockey East and is fourth on the overall scoring (10) list...The
Friars have had 16 different players notch points on the season thus far.
University of Vermont: Sophomore forward Klara Myren leads the Catamounts
in scoring with three goals and six assists in seven games this season…Roxanne
Douville has made 35 or more saves in three games this season. She leads the
league in saves with 161 this season…The Catamounts top five scorers are all
sophomores, they have accounted for 12 of Vermont's 16 goals this season …
Vermont completed its longest road trip of the season in Providence last weekend
with five games in 10 days.
