Boston University: No. 7 Boston University handed No. 6/5 Harvard its first
loss of the season on Sunday…The Terriers have now earned four wins over four
nationally ranked opponents this season, including three against teams in the top
five of either poll…The Terriers scored seven goals for the first time since March
10, 2012, when they tallied seven against Cornell in the NCAA tournament…It
was the first time BU had seven goals in a regular-season game since Oct. 15,
2010, against Wayne State…Kerrin Sperry has allowed just three goals in her last
200:44 against Providence…The Terriers allowed five total shots combined in the
first period this past weekend…Junior Marie-Philip Poulin has notched a point in
all 11 games she has played this season…Freshman Sarah Lefort now leads the
league with four game-winning goals…Junior Louise Warren (5g,2a) and senior
Isabel Menard (1g,5a) each have a four-game point streaks.
University of Connecticut: UConn snapped four-game losing streak with its 2-2
tie against non-conference opponent St. Lawrence on Sunday...Both Connecticut
ties have come against ECAC opponents...Freshman goaltender Elaine Chuli set
a career-high in her first game with 40+ saves by stopping 41 shots against St.
Lawrence on Sunday...Sophomore Emily Snodgrass, last season's leading scorer,
notched her second goal of the season against SLU, while senior Casey Knajdek
tallied her first
University of Maine: The Black Bears skated to a 2-1 loss against the New
Hampshire Wildcats on Saturday afternoon at Alfond Arena in Orono, Maine. Tori
Pasquariello picked up the lone goal for the Black Bears as she now has four goals
on the season. Audra Richards and Jennifer More notched the assist on the power
play goal. Maine has 13 skaters who have tallied at least a point thus far with nine
of those skaters being a sophomore or below. Brittany Dougherty leads the team
in points as she has notched 11 in 11 games thus far.
University of New Hampshire: The Wildcats earned a conference win in their only
contest last week, defeating the University of Maine, 2-1. Defender Megan Armstrong
extended her point streak to three games with a power play goal. Netminder
Jenn Gilligan has started the season with a 2-0-0 record in net with wins over Boston
U. and Maine. The members of the incoming class have accounted for 35 points
through the first 13 games of the season with 20 goals and 15 assists.
Northeastern University: Kendall Coyne has at least one point in 10 of her 11
games played this season, and is riding a seven-game point streak (7g,11a).
Coyne is fifth in the nation in points per game (2.27)…Casey Pickett has 13 points
in her last five games, and is three points away from 100 in her career. Pickett
is 20th on the NU record list for career goals (49)…Kelsey O'Sullivan replaced
Chloe Desjardins midway through the second period on Friday night, and made a
career high 16 saves.
Providence College: Providence has 19 different players notching points on the
season, including 14 that have notched at least one goal. The four Friar seniors
have notched 34 of the 110 points for Providence this season...In Hockey East
the Friars have played all but one conference foe, No. 8 Northeastern. At home
the Friars have earned a 5-1-2 record this season bringing them to a total of 296
games won in Schneider Arena, just shy of the 300 mark.
University of Vermont: Vermont sophomores Brittany Zuback, Meghan Huertas,
and Amanda Pelkey are all on three-game point streaks. Zuback leads the team in
scoring with nine goals and six assists for 15 points in 14 games this season...
Nine goals is already the most in a season for a Catamount since Hilary Johnson
had 11 in 2003-04…The Catamounts are undefeated in their last three Hockey
East contests, the first such streak since Jan. 30 – Feb. 11 2010…Sunday was
the annual Teddy Bear toss sponsored by the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, 80
bears were collected and will be donated to patients in the Burlington area.
