Smith Tapped Top Rookie; Foss Earns Best Goalie Honors

Alex Carpenter - Boston College

Carpenter racked up 10 points in just three outings in the month of December, pushing the Eagles to a 3-0-0 month and 20-0-0 on the season. Her six goals and four assists propelled her squad to the unanimous No. 1 ranking in the country and broke the all-time Hockey East point-scoring record. She finished the month with a team-high plus-eight rating and converted on 40% of the shots she fired on net. Her four goals Dec. 10 at Syracuse was the first four-goal game for Boston College since Dec. 1999 and, in the same contest, became the Eagles' all-time goal-scoring leader with 117 strikes. Currently, she boasts 67 career goals and 69 career assists in Hockey East play for 136 points and sits atop the historical Hockey East table.

Kyra Smith - New Hampshire

Smith started all five contests for New Hampshire in December, registering four wins to go along with a 2.36 goals against average and a .905 save percentage. She won Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week honors Dec. 7 after stopping 37 of 39 shots sweeping Merrimack. Overall on the month, Smith kicked out 95 shots she faced in her five outings and helped backbone the Wildcats to their current fourth-place seeding within Women's Hockey East entering 2016.

Sarah Foss - Northeastern
Junior; North Reading, Massachusetts


Foss claimed a win in each of the two games she appeared in for the Huskies in the final month of 2015, emerging victorious in two contests at Vermont. The junior netminder stopped 49 of the 51 shots she saw in those two outings for a .961 save percentage and a scant 1.00 goals against average.
