WAKEFIELD, Mass. - The Hockey East Association unveiled the 2016-17 women's composite schedule today at the league's annual media day at TD Garden. Each of the nine member institutions will play 24 league contests as well as several featured non-conference tilts and tournaments. A full schedule can be found on the following pages.
Hockey East teams began play last Thursday (Sept. 22) when defending league champions Boston College squared off in an exhibition against the Boston Blades. The Mai ne Black Bears skated in the first regular-season game of the year last Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 24-25) against RPI, while Providence and Boston University competed in the first Hockey East tilt of the new campaign Sunda y afternoon. League play picks up October 7 with a pair of league contests between New Hampshire and Boston University and Maine and Boston College.
The Hockey East season will culminate at with the 15th annual Women's Hockey East Tournament March 4-5. The semifinals and championship game will be hosted by Boston Univer sity. Tickets for the conference championship will go on sale in December.
