WAKEFIELD, Mass. -- With the end in sight, Women’s Hockey East teams are neck and neck at the top of
the standings, and the race is as close as ever for the home ice advantage. Providence regained the number
one position in the standings after a huge win knocking Northeastern into second. Vermont had a solid fourpoint
weekend with big wins over UNH and Maine. UConn upended BC before falling to UNH Sunday.
Northeastern advanced to the Beanpot finals with a shootout win over BU while BC fell to Harvard 5-0
in the first round of the Beanpot last Tuesday night. The Huskies went on top jumping to an early four-goal
lead until BU rallied to tie the game with four unanswered goals of their own including two from Holly Lorms
(Wauwatosa, Wis.). Northeastern’s Leah Sulyma (Inuvik, N.W.T.) earned the victory stopping all shots in the
shootout. Back in action on Saturday, BU blanked UNH 5-2 with two goals from Melissa Anderson (Langley,

Providence fought hard to regain the top position in the Hockey East standings with a 2-1 road victory
over Northeastern on Saturday. The Huskies carried an early one-goal lead all the way into the third but they
could not hold on to it before Ashley Cottrell (Sterling Heights, Mich.) snuck her thirteenth of the season
past Northeastern goaltender Leah Sulyma (Inuvik, N.W.T.). PC’s Nicole Anderson (Jordan, Minn.) notched
the game-winner snapping Northeastern’s eight-game unbeaten streak boosting the Friars into first place.

(Maplewood, Minn.) to a scoreless game to secure the victory. On Sunday, UConn suffered their first loss
in eleven games to UNH by a score of 4-1. Kelly Paton (Woodstock, Ont.) and Micaela Long (South Boston,
