~UConn’s Stathopulos named Top Rookie; BC’s Kingston earns Top Goalie honor~

Paton recorded five goals and nine assists for 14 points in seven February
games to average 1.29 assists per game and 2.00 points per game; she
tallied a point every game with three multiple-point efforts. Those stats
included two power-play goals and a game-winning goal in the regularseason
finale at Boston College that lifted UNH into a tie for second
place and gave the Wildcats the second seed in the tourney. Paton also
had a +4 rating and a .200 shooting percentage. In that final game of
the regular season, she matched her career highs in both assists (three)
and points (four).

BAUER Goaltender of the Month
Kiera Kingston – Boston College
Sophomore, Goaltender; Trumbull, Conn.

Kingston helped backstop the Eagles to a 2-1-1 record while in
net during the month of February, including the team’s 2-1, upset
win over No. 4 New Hampshire on Feb, 20. She recorded a 1.46
GAA to go along with 138 saves and a save percentage of .952.
Twice she recorded 30+ saves games, notching 32 on Feb. 9
against Boston University and 36 on Feb. 13 against Maine. Two
of the seven goals she allowed were while her team was on the
penalty kill.

BAUER Rookie of the Month
Elisabeth Stathopulos – Connecticut
Freshman Forward; Toronto, Ont.

Stathopulos was one of two players to record a team-best four
assists, including on the gamewinner against Boston College and
the first goal of the Huskies’ 4-1 Hockey East Tournament victory
on Feb. 27. Led the freshmen class with five points and was tied
for second on the team in scoring overall with her one goal and
four assist effort. Finished the month as a +3 and blocked a pair of
shots in the 3-2-2 month for the Huskies.
