UCONN FALLS TO BROWN IN OVERTIME, 2-1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (February 7, 2007) – Savannah Smith scored twice for Brown, including a power play goal in overtime as the University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team fell by a 2-1 score to the Bears on Wednesday night at Meehan Auditorium.

UConn now stands at 16-11-2 on the year as it concludes its non-conference slate. The Bears are now 8-15-2.

The Huskies opened the scoring as Briana Uliasz netted her second goal of the year just a minute into the second period off of a feed by Justine Cigna, the freshman's first career point. Smith knotted the game at 7:03 of the second and won it briefly after the start of overtime.

Brittany Wilson made 32 saves in net for UConn while Nicole Stock stopped 25 shots for Brown.

The Huskies wrap up a five-game road trip on Saturday afternoon when they face off against No. 9 Boston College at Conte Forum.
