Senior forward Kelli Stack scored two goals for Boston College

Kelli Stack tallied two goals for the second time this weekend to lift Boston College over Northeastern, 2-1 on Sunday, January 30 at Kelley Rink.

The Eagles improve to 16-5-4, 10-3-2 in Hockey East while Northeastern falls to 14-9-4, 6-7-3 in Hockey East.

After a evenly matched first period, Northeastern broke open the scoring with a goal from Katie MacSorley at 1:37 in the second.

The Huskies' lead didn't last long. At 10:13, Kelli Stack picked up a pass from Danielle Welch and fired it past Northeastern goaltender Leah Sulyma to tie the score.

As the Huskies' pressure mounted, BC goaltender Molly Schaus stopped two hard slapshots and sent the rebound out to Stack, who skated the length of the rink for a short-handed goal at 13:10 to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead and eventual win after a scoreless third period. Schaus was credited with the assist.

Schaus made 26 saves in net for the Eagles.

The Eagles will host Connecticut at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 4.

Game Notes: Kelli Stack netted two goals in both games this weekend...she is now 28-15-43 this season...in her career, she is 90-104-193...Stack is only five points away from tying BC's all-time Career Points record...the record is currently held by Erin Magee ('99) with 198 points... Molly Schaus was credited with her first-ever assist on Stack's game-winning goal...BC collected four Hockey East points with the wins over Providence and Northeastern this weekend...during today's game, the Boston College women's hockey team participated in the Fifth Annual Women's Hockey East "Skating Strides Against Breast Cancer" event...created in 2006, it is an event that not only increases awareness in women's hockey and Hockey East, but also gives the student-athletes a chance to give something back to the communities in which they study and play hockey...in the first four years of the event, Hockey East has collectively raised over $114,000 for breast cancer charities, while at the same time increased attendance at women's hockey games.
