Senior forward Kelli Stack picked up two goals for the Eagles

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's hockey team rallied after a loss at Providence last week to defeat the Friars 3-1 at Kelley Rink on Friday, January 28. Kelli Stack scored two goals in the win, with Mary Restuccia registering the third.

Providence lit the lamp first, as Ashley Cottrell slid the puck past BC goalie Molly Schaus from the post off a pass from Jennifer Friedman at 7:05 in the opening frame.

The Eagles responded at 16:11 to tie the score 1-1. Stack edged the puck away from Providence during a faceoff and took it right to the goal, tallying the tying shot from the right.

Stack scored again in the second period, deflecting a shot from Katelyn Kurth, originated by Alison Szlosek at 11:15 to give BC the go-ahead lead. The Eagles dominated the middle frame offense, outshooting the Friars 21-7.

With under two minutes remaining, Restuccia tallied the Eagles' final goal on a breakaway to end the contest 3-1.

BC outshot Providence 35-17, with Schaus stopping 16 shots in goal.

Up next, the Eagles host Northeastern at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 30.
