In the second period, BU grabbed a 3-0 advantage with goals from Wakefield and Fratkin. At 1:40, Kirchner passed to Wakefield in the left circle, where she drove toward the net before flipping the puck past Sulyma.

The Burnaby, B.C., native then skated toward the net before sliding the puck under Sulyma. Kirchner recorded her 100th career point on the play.

Northeastern responded 3:41 later to cut the Terrier lead to 3-1. Freshman Claire Santostefano lost an edge and slid into Sperry behind the net. Sophomore Casey Pickett then collected the loose puck at the right faceoff dot and shoveled a shot toward the net that went off junior Carly Warren's skate before crossing the goal line.

Sophomore Siena Falino made it a 3-2 game just 39 seconds into the third period when her shot from between the circles went off a Terrier defenseman and over Sperry's blocker.
