CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior forward Melissa Bizzari's game tying and game winning goals in the third period lifted the No. 5/6 women's hockey team (6-3-2, 5-2-1 WHEA) to a 4-3 win over Northeastern (8-3-2, 4-3-1 WHEA) on Sunday.

Megan Miller stopped 29 of 32 shots to improve to 2-2-2 this season while Chloe Desjardins stopped 29 of 33 in the loss to fall to 8-3-2.

The Eagles continued from where they left of Friday night as they jumped on the board against goaltender Chloe Desjardins for two goals in the opening frame. Alex Carpenter (10) hammered home a loose puck into an empty net on the power play at 7:58. Freshman defenseman Kaliya Johnson (1) notched her first collegiate goal as her blast from the point beat Desjardins through a screen to put BC up 2-0. The Huskies turned the pressure on as they outshot the Eagles 15-7 in the first 20 minutes of play. Claire Santostefano scored for the Huskies on the power play with only 17 seconds remaining in the period to cut the deficit to 2-1.

BC started to regain momentum in the second period as they outshot Northeastern 12-4 in the middle frame. Both Megan Miller and Chloe Desjardins played strong in the second period as both teams went scoreless. The Eagle's best chance of the period came on a 2-on-1 but Desjardins stoned Carpenter to keep the BC lead at 2-1. Shots on goal after 40 minutes were even at 19.

The Huskies tied the game and went ahead early in the third period on goals from Casey Pickett at 4:46 and Paige Savage at 8:24. Bizzari (3) tied the game just 22 seconds later as she put back a rebound from Haley Skarupa at 8:56. The teams had flurries at both ends and with the game seemingly destined for overtime, Bizzari (4) found room at the side of the net and beat a sprawled Desjardins with 39 seconds remaining. The Huskies tried furiously to notch the equalizer but the Eagles held on by a final score of 4-3.
