New Haven, Conn. - Freshman forward Haley Skarupa notched two goals as the No. 5/6 women's hockey team (7-3-2, 5-2-1 WHEA) blanked the Quinnipiac Bobcats (7-6-2, 4-3-1 ECAC) 3-0 on Friday at Ingalls Rink.

Corinne Boyles (27 saves) recorded her first shutout since a 4-0 win over Vermont last season and improved to 5-1-0 this year. Victoria Viglianti stopped 24 shots in the loss for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats had the better of the play in the first 20 minutes as they outshot the Eagles 14-8 but Skarupa's (7) goal turned out to be all BC needed this night as she scored at the 15:09 mark.

Taylor Wasylk (2) gave BC some insurance at 2:28 of the second period on assists from Kate Leary and Meagan Mangene. Boyles remained strong in goal as she turned aside all nine Bobcats shots in the middle frame. Shots on goal after two periods were 23-19 in favor of Quinnipiac.

The Eagles salted the game away in the third period when Skarupa (8) notched her second goal of the game at 11:03 on an assist from Alex Carpenter.

BC extends their unbeaten streak to eight games (6-0-2) and matches the longest unbeaten streak in program history ... Power Plays: Eagles 0-1, Bobcats 0-4 ... final shots on goal were even at 27 apiece.

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday in the championship game of the Nutmeg Classic against either UConn or Yale.
