Junior goaltender Roxanne Douville stopped 27 shots for the Catamounts

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team was swept in weekend action by Vermont, following a 2-0 shutout at home on Sunday afternoon.

The game remained scoreless for nearly two periods until Danielle Rancourt netted the first goal of the game on the rebound of a shot fired on goal by Erin Wente at the 17:55 mark of the second. The Catamounts (5-9-2, 4-3-2 Hockey East) added to their lead at the 7:03 mark of the third when Wente knocked in her fourth of the year, assisted by Rancourt.

Roxanne Douville picked up her second shutout of the weekend by making 27 saves as the Huskies (2-24-2, 1-7-0 Hockey East) outshot UVM for the second straight game, 27-26. Freshman Elaine Chuli (Waterford, Ont.) made 24 saves for UConn.

Connecticut returns to action at home on January 2, 2013 for a non-conference match-up with Princeton.
