Vermont's Roxanne Douville made 30 saves and Maine's Brittany Ott stopped 26 shots

Orono, Maine - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team skated to a 0-0 draw against the University of Vermont on Friday afternoon at the Alfond Arena in Orono, Maine. The Black Bears were anchored by Brittany Ott (St. Clair Shores, Michigan) between the pipes as she registered 26 saves in the tie.

Brittany Dougherty (Chesterfield, Michigan) led the Black Bears on the offensive side as she registered eight shots in the contest. Dougherty had a breakaway opportunity stuffed by the Catamount goalie in an effort to hold onto the 0-0 tie. Dougherty came up the left side but was unsuccessful with her stick play.

In her highlight real of saves, Ott stuffed Catamount skater Kellie Dineen on two separate occasions in one on one opportunities. Ott sees her record slide to 3-10-2 after today's contest.

The Black Bears held a 30-26 shot advantage over the Catamounts. Maine went 0-5 on the power play while Vermont went 0-6.

Maine returns to action tomorrow afternoon as it hosts Vermont for game two of the weekend; puck is slated to drop at 1:00 PM. The Black Bears will hit the road next weekend as the faceoff against Connecticut on January 26 at 1:00 PM and Providence on January 27 at 2:00 PM.
