Sophomore forward Brittany Zuback scored two goals for the Catamounts

BURLINGTON, Vt - Kylie St. Louis had a goal and two assists to lead the Robert Morris Colonials to a 6-2 win over the Vermont women's hockey team Saturday afternoon at Gutterson Fieldhouse in non-conference action.

St. Louis opened the scoring for the Colonials 1:14 into the first period. She collected the rebound from a Kristen Richards point shot and beat Vermont goaltender Roxanne Douville with a quick wrist shot.

Robert Morris pushed its lead to two goals with their first power play goal of the season. Maddie Collias broke into the slot and got a point blank shot off on net, Douville made the initial save but Thea Imbrogno put the rebound in for her first goal of the season.

Rebecca Vint added another Colonials tally late in the first period on a two-on-one with Cobina Delaney. After Douville made the first save the puck lay uncovered behind the Vermont netminder, Vint pounced on the loose puck to give Robert Morris a three-goal cushion.

Just 29 seconds into the second period Brittany Zuback got the Catamounts on the board with a great individual effort. She intercepted a Colonials break-out pass and beat Robert Morris goaltender Kristen DiCiocco with a snap shot.

The Colonials leading goal scorer Kelsey Thomas reestablished the Robert Morris three-goal cushion at the 4:54 mark of the second period. She deposited a rebound in front for her fourth goal of the season.

Zuback and the Catamounts responded midway through the second period. Sarah Campbell led Vermont into the Robert Morris zone on an three-on-two, after fanning on an initial shot attempt Campbell set Zuback up at the side of the net for a one-timed finish. Dayna Colang picked up the second assist on Zuback's team leading fifth goal of the season.

Kristen Richards put the game out of reach for good late in the second period. She broke in alone on Douville and beat her with a backhand finish. Jennifer Kindret and Jamie Joslin assisted on the play, which came seconds after a Vermont power play.

Thomas added an insurance marker 11:31 into the third period. In just three games against Hockey East opponents, she has scored all five of her goals this season.

DiCiocco made 30 saves as she won her second game this season. Douville made 25 saves for Vermont in her sixth start of the season.

Vermont closes out its four-game home stand tomorrow (2 p.m.) as they face Robert Morris in the second game of their weekend series.
